Flat Tire

A tire gone flat

is a bother often that

disrupts your day and any plans you begat.

But who’s not to say

that you, forced to stay,

were spared a car crash, your life to be saved?

And who could predict

that the road on thirty-six

was covered in sleet beside a welcoming ditch?

Who’d have known better

if a truck, due to weather,

was to skid on slick ice, and with chaos the road cover?

What happens today

might cause you delay

but could save your life in a miraculous way.

So be sure to stop

when tempted to drop

at the small inconveniences that might mean a lot.
