The New Age

Don’t you dare even look

at the brand new book

we are writing today from wisdom born yesterday.

My wisdom is knew

and therefore more true

than the relics and morals you desperately cling to.

What place has a stone

in an age of skin and bone?

Your foundation is old, your steadfastness exposed.

I’ll not hear your words

nor look through the doors

you’ve opened and closed through blood, sweat, and gore.

Your efforts are meaningless,

your thoughts, penniless,

I denounce your humanity and label you useless.

I am the new age.

My whims are what make

right no longer sane, and wrong begin to change.

I am the new age.

Now bow and pay homage

to my standards and rules lest this be your last page.

I am the new age.

And now you will pay

for things you have done in worlds different than today.
